Marriage Break-ups and Family Problems
Sadly marriages do fail, and it is important that subsequent arrangements are fair to all parties, including any children. We can advise and work on all aspects of marriage and divorce, from pre-nuptial agreements to full divorce court proceedings. Where a couple wish to separate but have no grounds in law for a divorce, we can prepare a deed of separation to confirm financial arrangements. In divorce cases where the couple agree on the financial arrangements, we will formalise these by obtaining a consent order. We can also help you to agree the best arrangements for children, defining where they are to live, whether they can be taken abroad, who is to support them financially, and so on.
We are also increasingly called on to help couples that are not married but have been living together. The financial consequences of this sort of split can be very complex, especially where there are children or property has not been owned jointly, and we can guide you through this tricky legal area.
We can act for both privately funded clients and those entitled to legal aid. Whatever your problem, you can rely on us to work sympathetically and promptly. To obtain a quotation, please telephone us or complete our enquiry form.
